The Chapel on the Campus. From candlelight to Sunday morning.

Elation KL Par FC tunable-white fixtures hard-mounted into the exposed-wood ceiling at The Chapel on the Campus — the church on LSU's campus, serving students and the surrounding community. One rig walks the room from candle-warm Christmas Eve through Sunday-morning formality to a cooler wash for the Sunday-night college service.

The Room

An exposed-wood sanctuary, already its own thing.

The Chapel sits on LSU's campus, in a sanctuary built around an exposed-wood ceiling that does most of the architectural work in the room. The lighting design lives inside that — fixtures hard-mounted into the wood, every choice scaled to what the ceiling already gives the room.

The wood sets the placement rules. Fixtures sit in positions that read clean from the floor, cabling routed tight to the structure. The ceiling keeps being the ceiling — the rig sits quiet by day and steps forward when it's lit.

The Install

KL Par FC hard-mounted into the wood.

The Elation KL Par FC is a tunable-white PAR fixture — variable color temperature from candle-warm at the bottom of the range up through cool daylight, all from a single fixture type. The whole rig is one product across the room, so the design moves through every white temperature the service calls for from one consistent system.

Install ran on a scissor lift, fixture by fixture, each one hard-mounted into the wood ceiling. Cabling routed clean so the rig reads tidy from the floor. The Chapel's production team was part of the process — install days were a collaboration.

The Program

Cool for college night. Warm for candlelight.

Programmed presets walk the rig through every service the room hosts. Sunday morning runs balanced, formal-feeling daylight on the platform — the room reads traditional, the way the architecture asks for it. Sunday night warms into a cooler, brighter wash for the college service, giving the student crowd a contemporary feel from the same rig.

Christmas Eve and Easter candlelight services drop the rig to the warm end of the range — fixtures pulling toward candle-amber, the wood ceiling softly glowing in the wash. Same fixtures, same positions, four entirely different rooms across the year.

Through-line
